The sixth session of the Committee of Experts on a Possible Protocol to the Berne Convention, and the fifth session of the Committee of Experts on a Possible Instrument for the Protection of the Rights of Performers and Producers of Phonograms, met jointly at the headquarters of WIPO, in Geneva, from February 1 to 9,1996. (Hereinafter, those two Committees together are referred to as "the Committees." A reference to "the Committee, in respect of the issues relating either only to the Possible Protocol to the Berne Convention (hereinafter, referred to as "the Berne Protocol" or "the Protocol") or only to the Possible Instrument for the Protection of the Rights of Performers and Producers of Phonograms (hereinafter, in general, referred to as "the New Instrument") is a reference to the relevant Committee.)
