Gender Gap in Bhutan´s Innovation Ecosystem Dataset

This dataset compiles longitudinal data on Bhutan’s innovation ecosystem from 2005 to 2024, integrating scientific publications and intellectual property (IP) activities, including patents, trademarks, and industrial designs involving at least one Bhutanese contributor. It draws on international databases such as OpenAlex, PATSTAT, and WIPO global collections. Gender is probabilistically attributed to individuals based on their names using standardized dictionaries. The dataset enables analysis of women’s participation across innovation outputs, sectors, and institutional contexts, supporting the measurement of gender gaps through indicators such as participation rates and the Women Inventors Ratio.
