Summary
This paper is aimed at determining the prospects of legal framework development concerning computer-generated designs in Ukraine. Through testing two approaches to computer-generated objects protection – one implemented in the Ukrainian copyright law to objects generated by a computer program and the other implemented in the UK, Ireland, and Hong Kong to computer-generated designs – the study discusses whether these approaches may be suitable for computer-generated design protection in Ukraine. Based on the discussion, the paper presents the proposals for the legal framework development concerning industrial designs generated by a computer program in Ukraine.
