Summary
This report assesses women’s participation in Bhutan’s innovation ecosystem from 2005 to 2024 across science and intellectual property. Women account for 20–25% of scientific authorship, with wide disciplinary gaps but strong representation in pharmaceuticals. Nearly 45% of Bhutanese patent inventors are women, while participation is lower in industrial design (27%). Women’s involvement in trademarks has grown from about 22% to 30%, reaching notably high levels in Research & Technology and in Leisure and Education.
