America's Pastime has a detailed rulebook like every other sport. However, the sport of baseball has unwritten rules that are just as important as the ones that are memorialized. Examples of some commonly observed unwritten rules include: don't swing on a 3-0 pitch when your team is significantly ahead, don't talk about an impending no-hitter, don't bunt during a no-hitter, don't swing on the first pitch after the pitcher has allowed back-to-back home runs, and don't walk in front of the catcher on the way to the box. One of the most important rules of baseball that toes the line between written and unwritten is don't steal signs ... the wrong way.
