N2  - This article is concerned with the question of whether an author has, under the UK Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988, a right to object to the complete destruction of their copyright work. Under s. 80 of the 1988 Act, the author has the right, referred to as the ‘integrity right’, to object to the derogatory treatment of their copyright work, but the question as to whether this is broad enough to cover the utter and complete destruction of the work has not yet been settled satisfactorily. This discussion addresses this shortfall.
