Attorneys who manage local IP counsel in less developed countries face many common issues, whether they work in house or as external supervising counsel who are hiring and instructing local counsel on behalf of clients. While many experienced lawyers have hired and managed external counsel in markets outside their home country, selecting, retaining and managing local counsel in developing markets present some unique considerations.
