Summary
GTZ has prepared this Reader at an important intersection in the ongoing discourse on biodiversity and IRs, as part of the search for solutions to mutually conducive IPRs and (agro-) biodiversity approaches. Built largely on the most recent analysis of IPRs and biodiversity by experts from Latin America, Southern Africa and Asia, the publication capitalizes on ongoing work in GTZ programs on IPRs, ABS, collaboration with indigenous peoples and farmers' rights. The contributions to this Reader seek to provide relevant state-ot-the-art analysis on recent developments in key policy processes not just at the multilateral level but also bilaterally and regionally, where discussions involve practical experiences with, and advancement of, concrete implementation approaches and instruments.
