Disentangling the impact of constitutional provisions from that of ordinary laws, we then show that constitutional provisions protecting IPRs positively affect the differential in labor productivity between high and low R&D intensive industries. This effect is driven by the mutually reinforcing impact of constitutional IPRs protection and R&D investment in the high R&D intensive industries. Furthermore, the impact of constitutions appears to be stronger in those countries where IPRs protection by ordinary laws is weaker. 000047933 542__ $$fhttps://academic.oup.com/pages/using-the-content/citation 000047933 590__ $$aPublished online: 2021 000047933 650_0 $$aIntellectual property 000047933 650_0 $$aLabor productivity 000047933 7001_ $$aCarbonara, Emanuela,$$vauthor. 000047933 7001_ $$aGianfreda, Giuseppina,$$eauthor. 000047933 7001_ $$aSantarelli, Enrico,$$eauthor. 000047933 7001_ $$aVallanti, Giovanna,$$eauthor. 000047933 7731_ $$tIndustrial and Corporate Change,$$wINCC 000047933 830_0 $$aIndustrial and Corporate Change$$vINCC 2021, 30(4), 884-904 000047933 85641 $$uhttps://doi.org/10.1093/icc/dtab003$$yRead the Article 000047933 904__ $$aJournal article 000047933 980__ $$aINCC
