Summary
This Note will review the legal implications of granting copyright protection to such elements, offer recommendations as to how the current United States copyright paradigm can be revised so as to provide adequate preparation for any future similarly-postured cases, and further examine varying viewpoints as to how the music industry as a whole could be disrupted by such a dramatic change in what constitutes protectable elements of a composition.
