"This article surveys the risks for copyright liability an Internet Service Provider might encounter when conducting business in Europe. Focusing on German, French, Italian and proposed European copyright law, important issues are addressed, such as direct and indirect violations of the reproduction and broadcasting rights as well as the relevant exemptions for provider liability. The article concludes that provider liability in Europe is on the way to becoming well balanced".
