Note
"International motion picture licences are constructed from an assortment of accumulated customs, restrictions, local practices, contractual rights and established agreements. To this agglomeration must be added the delicate interests of financial backers--since international licences are typically used to secure loans for the production--and a plurality of conditions applying to individual territories, under which the exhibition of a film is finally permitted. This article sets out to unpack these elements and to survey the ways in which they may be formally incorporated into an international licence."
