In a decision of December 10, 1998, the German Federal Court of Justice (FJC) ruled that abstract colours and colour combinations were, in principle, eligible for trademark protection. see French summary "Les couleurs de?sormais prote?geables a? titre de marque en Allemagne" in FR 31 PIBD No 685 p II-163-164.
