AB  - This study constitutes a review and critical assessment of the literature concerned with East-West technology transfer. Although not intended to be an original piece of research, it does seem to be the first attempt that has been made to deal with the whole spectrum of problems posed by technology transfer in the context of Easte-West economic relations. The purpose of the study is to provide an overall analysis of the problem of East-West technology transfer: to assess the current state of knowledge of East-West technology transfer in the West, and in so doing to identify, if only implicitly, areas where further study may be needed.
