Chapter 6 addresses Indigenous issues and perspectives in relation to 'the equitable sharing of benefits arising from the utilisation of traditional knowledge, innovations and practices' ; promote a cooperative approach to protection and management of the environment; recognise the role of Indigenous people in the conservation and ecologically sustainable use of Australia's biodiversity; promote use of Indigenous peoples' knowledge of biodiversity; consultation with Indigenous people and organisations, including traditional owners of Uluru, Kakadu and Booderee; Appendix 10 is ' Indigenous interests in biological resources in Commonwealth areas - synthesis of submissions and related information by Henrietta Fourmile'.
