"As CDs lack a copyright protection mechanism, pirating music is relatively simple. It will be impossible to eradicate all online music piracy. Therefore, the existing music industry must alter its business practices and distribution channels to maintain profitability. A successful online retail model for music must be low-cost and more convenient to access than pirated works".
