Note
"Simplification has become a popular trend in Australian legislation, with notable examples being found in the recent patents and trademarks law. Copyright is now the latest candidate for simplification, and the Copyright Law Review Committee has just released two significant reports dealing with exceptions to protection and the categorisations of subject-matter and exclusive rights. In this appreciation of the work of the CLRC, the author argues that there is more to this than meets the eye. Adoption of the CLRC's recommendations may well lead to a complete re-conceptualisation of the existing Australian law."
